Looking forward to an exciting Fall!

While so many of us prepare to shift from summer mode to back-to-school mode, I wanted to take a moment to let you know about some exciting things happening this Fall at DCN!

SMALL GROUPS

We have no Plan B for spiritual growth—it’s all about small groups!  Our groups are designed to strengthen relationships among believers to encourage spiritual depth and vitality.  During the upcoming The God Questions series, we’re offering seven five-week group options to pick from.  If you haven’t already, be sure to register for a group today at our web site.  After the series, everyone is encouraged to commit to a group for the remainder of the Fall/Winter semester, which concludes in January.

NEW MINISTRIES

• P.U.L.L. (Pray Under the Lord's Leadership) PRAYER MINISTRY—Each Sunday during the first half hour of our celebration service (10:30-11:00), we're asking God to anoint all aspects of the Sunday morning experience here at DCN.  If you're willing to do so on a rotating basis, please sign up on your connection card or at the information table.  Carol Ann Ferris is organizing this important new ministry.
  
  MOM TO MOM—Debuting October 1, this new Biblically-based parenting ministry will help educate, encourage and equip moms. Coordinated by Joanie Marchant and assisted by two others, Mom to Mom meets the first and third Friday morning of each month during the school year and is for moms of infants through adolescents, and their pre-school children.  For more information or to register, visit the church web site or contact Joanie Marchant or Sharon Janus A $60 annual registration fee includes book and childcare.

• CHILDREN’S BIBLE QUIZZING—This Fall, children in grades 1-6 can start developing a love for the Bible and to understand how its truth can guide their lives.  This new fun and exciting small group, led by Jen Cunningham, meets Sundays from 9:15-10:15 am starting on September 19.  Register your children here at our website.

ENHANCED MINISTRIES

• SURGE—Our KNOW-level ministry for students moves to Thursday nights effective with the Season Premiere on September 23.  Over the summer, Brad Stoll, Jen Bowler, Jessie Davenport, Richie Jache and Jake Milette have spent many hours planning and strategizing a more effective ministry to teenagers.  I’m looking forward to what God has in store for our students this year!

• USHERS—As a way of responding to the exciting challenges of a growing church, we’re changing the role that ushers play here at DCN.  Included in the changes is that ushers will now be responsible to count the offering in addition to collecting it.  Matt Marchant has agreed to provide leadership to the ushers during this important transition and to oversee team training while Carol Ferris will work with Matt on counting procedures as he learns the ropes.

• KIDSquest—By stepping into the role of ministry coordinator, Crissy Jache will focus her efforts on leading this crucial ministry to children.  Please be praying for Crissy as she builds a team of ministers around her and pursues excellence in children’s ministry.
