Haiti Earthquake
As many of you know, on Tuesday, the largest earthquake ever recorded in Haiti—the poorest nation in the Western Hemisphere—has caused what officials described as “total disaster and chaos.” At least 140,000 have lost their lives in the 7.0-magnitude earthquake, and the Red Cross estimates another 3 million people—a third of the population—may need emergency relief in shelters. The loss of life is heartbreaking.
As the Church, we must get involved! Please pray to see how the Lord wants you to respond, whether through prayers, financial gifts, and/or other types of assistance as He leads. In the meantime, please be praying for our Haitian brothers and sisters who have family and friends in the middle of this crisis.
If you’d like to make a donation online, you may do so through Nazarene Compassionate Ministries at www.ncm.org or clearly mark your check “Caribbean Disaster Response ACM1204” and put it in the offering plate on Sunday. Thanks for your compassion.
