An Exciting Summer Ahead!

As the summer is about to begin, we’re in the midst of an exciting time here at DCN!  We continue to see increased growth in attendance, depth of discipleship, and financial giving.  I wanted to make sure you knew that things will continue to be alive and well this summer!

Here are the highlights of what we’re looking forward to over the next couple months:

CONSTRUCTION!

Thanks in large part to some unexpected donations we’ve received, we’re moving forward with several significant building improvement projects to enhance our celebration services and better accommodate our growth.

Ministry Center—Improve acoustics and stage configuration; new projector and power screen; new carpeting, paint, drapes, and backdrops

Nursery expansion—Double the current size of the toddler nursery and install a new check-in center for the nurseries.

CONNECTION!

Mark your calendar and take advantage of these great opportunities for you (and your kids) to get connected with others this summer:

Picnic at the Park—After the service this Sunday (June 14), join us at Endicott Park (Area 1 by the playground) beginning by 1:00 pm.  Bring your own meat to grill and a side dish and/or dessert to share (along with any sports equipment you want to bring).  Drinks and paper goods are provided by the church.  Parking is $1 for Danvers residents and $3 for others.

KIDSfest 2009—Children entering 1st -5th grade this September can enjoy this awesome event from Wednesday, July 8 to Sunday, July 12!  For only $19, each participant gets an official KIDSfest t-shirt and admission to all three two-hour theme nights (plus a free Sunday event for the entire family)!

Dinner for 8—We’re offering another set of options in July and August.  These fun, casual evenings are designed to encourage relationship-building.  Stay tuned!

Baptism Celebration—After the service on Sunday, July 19, we’re meeting at my home to celebrate with at least a half dozen of our people who are getting baptized in our pool, followed by a cookout.  Bring your own meat to grill, plus a side and dessert to share.  The church will provide drinks, grills and paper products.

Family Movie Night—Join us on Friday, July 24 to enjoy an outdoor big screen movie with your family and friends!  The event starts at 7:00 pm and features free fresh popcorn!  Bring a lawn chair or blanket and bug spray.  The event moves inside if it rains.

Hope you’re looking forward to the summer as much as I am!  Enjoy the rest of your week, and I’ll see you on Sunday!
